In September 2005, along with her business partner, Max Weitzenhoffer, she bought the Lyric Theatre, the Apollo Theatre, the Duchess Theatre, and the Garrick Theatre from Really Useful Theatres, forming Nimax Theatres Ltd.[2] In September 2005 she was named 40th most important in the arts in the United Kingdom by The Times. In January 2006, along with her business partner Weitzenhoffer, she was named was "the fifth most important person in British theatre" by The Stage.[1][2] In February 2007, she presented a Masterclass at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, in London.[1]

On 23 April 2004, Nica Burns took part in a "debate" about "ticket prices in the West End" with other British theatre "industry insiders" Diane Borger and Caro Newling, chaired by David Benedict, which was recorded live and archived in two parts as an audio program by TheatreVoice.[3]
