"Sega Rally 2" is an arcade game developed and released by Sega in 1998, and ported in the following year to the Dreamcast console (soon after the European and American launches) and the PC system. It is a sequel to "Sega Rally".

The game added many new vehicles, new environment settings for the circuits (including snowy tracks and a course set on an island), as well as including multiple circuits in each environment type (the first game only featured one in each). An updated version of the original game's Desert track was also included.

The Dreamcast and PC versions of the game also included the gruelling "10-year championship" mode.

The game was powered by the Windows CE operating. [ [http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/1999/mar99/toolkitpr.mspx Press release highlighting its use in the conversion] , Microsoft PressPass. Accesed July 31 2008] It had support for up to 2 players and also made use of the vibration pack, visual memory unit, race controller and could be played in VGA mode.

The PAL release had the following description on the back of the game case: "The greatest rally game in the arcades is now available in your own home. With the addition of a 10 Year Championship and gruelling driving conditions through mud, deserts, blizzards, night time and many more. Choose from a multitude of world famous rally cars on 17 challenging courses. Upload your best times to the internet or view the high score tables."

The courses featured in the game include:

*Desert - based on the Sahara Desert
*Mountain - based on the mountains of Corsica
*Snowy - based on the snowy forests of Sweden
*Riviera - based on the Riviera front in Monte Carlo
*Muddy - based on the hot, muddy jungles of Indonesia
*Isle - based on the castles of Catalonia

As expected, the Toyota Celica GT-4 ST-205 and Lancia Delta HF Integrale from the original game appear in this game again, this time with newer Toyota and Lancia cars, as well as cars from Mitsubishi, Subaru, Fiat, Peugeot, Renault, and Ford (which is not available in the North American copy of the Dreamcast game).
