"Being Human" was a 2008 British television drama/horror, shown on BBC Three. Its pilot episode starred Guy Flanagan, Andrea Riseborough, Russell Tovey and also featured Adrian Lester. The programme concerned three twenty-something characters trying to live a normal social life, despite being a vampire, a ghost and a werewolf.

Commissioning

The pilot episode was broadcast at 9pm on 18 February 2008 as part of the re-branding of BBC Three along with several other pilots (including West 10 LDN).cite news|first=Leigh|last=Holmwood|url=http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/feb/14/bbc.television|title=BBC3 to air full series of Phoo Action|accessdate=2008-02-19|date=19 February 2008|publisher=Guardian] Danny Cohen, the controller of BBC Three had stated at the winter 2008 season launch that a full series from either one or two of these pilots; the other to be commissioned was "Phoo Action".

An online petition lobbying BBC Three commissioning editors to greenlight a full series was set up by a journalist from the Reading Chronicle newspaper as part of a review of the show. The BBC announced on April 24, 2008 that a six episode series of the show had been commissioned.
