Arran View, Greenock

Arran View is an area of Gourock, but due to its proximity to Greenock, it is often mistakenly named as a suburb of the town. It is an estate that is around 19 years old, with all the street names taken from English towns, which end in "mouth". The estate is made up of a long street, Weymouth Crescent, which all the other Streets are just off. The area is popular among workers from the nearby Inverclyde Royal Hospital, due to the short walking distance. Most of the houses are semi detactched, although there are some detached houses, and a small amount of flats. Due to the fact the houses were built by building company George Wimpey, the estate can often be referred to as "The Wimpies".
