Prestatyn Coal Company

The Prestatyn Coal Company was formed in 1865, by Lord Mostyn, owner of Mostyn Colliery, to investigate the possibility of a colliery at Point of Ayr, in Flintshire, North Wales.

Trial borings proved successful, however the project was abandoned before work could properly begin [cite web| url=http://www.welshcoalmines.co.uk/North/Point%20of%20Ayr.htm| title=Point of Air Colliery| work=Welsh Coal Mines| accessdate=2007-12-02| ] .
