Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal
Pongola is a small
town situated in northernKwaZulu-Natal ,South Africa , on thePongola River , only 10 kilometres from theSwaziland border. It has 50 km² ofsugarcane andsubtropical fruit plantations surrounding it. During the Depression years of the 1930s, drasticirrigation systems were started in Pongola. The town thrived as a result of the canal system and asugar mill that was built.External links
