Leonard, like his brother, had an outstanding amateur career. He was the 1978
National AAU Welterweight champion . In addition, he was a four-timeUnited States Air Force Champion.Professional career
Nicknamed Roger "The Dodger", Leonard turned pro in 1978 and failed to live up to his amateur success. Although he was featured on the undercards of Sugar Ray [http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article12740.html] , he was unable to compete at an elite level. He retired in 1982 after having won 16 fight and lost 1 fight.
