Jovan Jovanov was born on 27.05 1981, his star sign is Gemini, and his sun sign is Cancer. He is a senior at the Music academy, graduating this year. His music desire, as well as his talent have been his foremost assets since he was very young. He was a part of the children choir ‘Zlatno slavejce’, and enrolled in the junior music school when he was five years old. He had his first stage performance on 26.06 1996, on ‘Tin Fest’ in Prilep, with his song ‘Frli ja cigarata’ (Throw The Cigarette), whose author was Jovan by himself. The next year, 10.10 1997 he had his first performance on a professional festival.

His ambition is to become a music hit-maker, as he is on the right way of reaching the goal. In may 1998, he forms the teen music band ‘Magija’ (‘Magic’), (Jovan, Zoki, Damjan and Doni), and they record their first two songs ‘Otkaci se’ (‘Go away’) and ‘D.J’. Jovan applies and competes on Makfest 1998 with the song ‘Magija’, where he realizes his first bigger success- wins the first prize of the audience, and the second prize on the International evening. In the year 1998, ‘Magija’ gets the status of the most popular music band in the daily newspaper ‘Vecer’. On the national manifestation ‘Dvanaeset Velicestveni’ they won the best band award of the audience. The band ‘Magija’ has accomplished several successful tours all over Macedonia, while the band's popularity was growing, and there was no radio or any other music list where they were not on the top of the singles with their hits.On 12.10 1999, at the café ‘Stradivarius’, in the City Mall, Jovan had his band’s first music album promoted. The album was called ‘Pomisluvam na tebe’ (I Think Of You) and it counts 12 compositions. On 17.10 1999, the popular band ‘Magija’ had their first solo concert, filling up the whole ‘Kale’ Hall. All the mediums were talking about their great performance as a real spectacle. On 03.02 2000 on the manifestation ‘Buba Mara’, ‘Magija’ was awarded as the most popular music band in 1999. Later, on 24.02 2000 they won the same award on ‘Dvanaeset Velicestveni’. Apart from composing songs for his band, Jovan Jovanov also creates songs for other talented singers. He won the second reward on Skopje Festival, with the band ‘Tick-Tack’, and the song ‘Mojot zivot’ (My Life). In spring 2001, in one of his interviews, Jovan announces that the band ‘Magija’ is not going to keep on working. In the summer 2001, Jovan was working on forming and developing his own music studio in order to keep creating good quality singles for himself and other singer.

The same year, Jovan leaves to Toronto- Canada. After a short break of a few moths, he sets up his solo career and records his first solo single with a video, named ‘Da te imam samo tebe’ (To Have Only You), in his studio ‘Jovanovi’. On 10.10 2003, he takes part on Makfest’03 in Shtip, performing ‘Da te vidam pak’ (To See You Again), where he wins the third prize and a stage performance award.

On 02.02 2007, Jovan makes the video for his ballad ‘Vo pravo si’ (You’re Right), and announces that he was working on his new album where 14 compositions were going to be included. On 24.02 2007, performs the song ‘1, 2, 3...’ on the Eurovision Song Contest, with Maja Sazdanovska, and again, their song was one of the very favorites. On 24.02 2007 Jovan promoted his album ‘Na moj nacin’ (On My Way), and makes the video for his composition ‘Sega jas si zaminuvam’ (Now I’m Leaving), in cooperation with ‘Fabrika Production’. The promotion was organized at the café-club ‘La Luna’, Ramstore, with 500 guest who attended the event, the celebration of his 10 years music career. Getting his album done, he goes on working on None Nedelkovska’s new album. On 01.06 2007, ‘Premier Production’ presents the music album of Elvir Mekik, accomplished by Jovan Jovanov as a composer and Elvir Mekik who wrote the lyrics. On 24 and 25.06 2007, Jovan had a performance on 'Budva 2007' and on 09 and 10.07 2007 took place on 'Herceg Novi ’07' on the debutant evening composing a song for Bravo Band that won the third award. On 'Ohrid Fest', Jovan won the first jury award as a composer of the song sung by Elvir Mekik and Maja Sazdanovska. Nowadays, he works with a lot of famous and anonymous singers, as well as the album of his cooperator Elvir Mekik, who presented one of Jovan’s songs competing on 'Makfest 2007' and won the third award of the audience.
