Seaburn is a suburb and seaside resort in the
City of Sunderland, in Tyne and Wear, North East England. The village of Whitburn, South Tynesideborders the area to the north. To the west and south-west is Fulwelland to the south the coastal resort of Roker.
Most of Seaburn is low-density private housing, constructed during the middle of the 20th century. The seafront is home to a sandy ex-blue flag beach resort, seaside
promenades, an amusement park, children's playgrounds, fish and chip shops, small guest houses and one four star hotelthe Marriott Hotel (formerly the Seaburn Hotel or the Swallow Hotel). The main shopping street is Sea Road, which runs from the seafront up to the Seaburn Metro station.
In the late 1980s, the old Seaburn funfair was redeveloped, with a
Morrisons supermarket, new amusement parkand leisure centre.
Seaburn was a favourite place of the painter

Sunderland International Airshowis held on the coast at Seaburn and Roker and is the largest free event of its kind in Europe, with a variety of aircraft, civilian and military aircraft on display. Tyne and Wear MetroSeaburn is served by its own station.
The suburb is part of the Fulwell ward on
