Aeronautical Development Agency

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of the India's Ministry of Defence was established in Bangalore in 1984 to oversee the development of the nation's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme.

LCA-Tejas uses as high as 45 percent composite in its airframe. Composite structure owe their lightweight characteristics to the designer freedom to place the load carrying material only where it is required. This is archived by using lightweight, high-strength fibers embedded in a resign matrix which can be oriented during the manufacturing process to suit the designers requirements.
