Trouble (Cat Stevens song)

"Trouble" is a popular song by Cat Stevens, on suicide. The song first appeared on his 1970 album "Mona Bone Jakon" and later in the film "Harold and Maude", for which Cat Stevens provided the soundtrack.

Appearances in the media

The song was featured on an episode of "ER" in which Dr. John Carter and Abby Lockhart travel to Kansas to retrieve Abby's unstable mother. It was also seen on the television show Alias when Sydney reveals her spy status to her fiancé Danny which eventually leads to his death.

Many artists have covered the song, including Elliott Smith (on the soundtrack to "Thumbsucker"), both Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. The Athens, Georgia jamband Widespread Panic has performed "Trouble" live since 1989. A live performance version from the band's July 20, 2002 concert appears on the DVD "Live from the Backyard". The song is also used in the 2006 film "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints". An cover version circulating on file sharing networks alleges to be by Oasis, however no such cover was recorded. The vocals sound like Francis Healy of Travis, however.
