Bhuj Airport Airport codes|BHJ|VABJ is located at
Bhujin the Kutch Districtof the state of Gujarat, India.
The airport was previously made up of two
bunkers/buildings near the Bhuj Rudra Mata Air Force Base, with which it shares the runway. On one side of the passing road there was an " Indian Airlines" bunker, and on the other side a Jet Airwaysbunker. From there a coach would transport one across the Indian Air Forcegrounds to the small departures terminal.
Over the last few years, a suitable
airport terminalhas been built, with parking and a drop-off/collect point. Also during that time, Indian has stopped all services to and from Bhuj airport, and Deccan check-in counters have been built, but are yet to be used.
Bhuj Airport was used to receive help and supplies for the
2001 Gujarat earthquake.
The Airport has been recently been named Shyamji Krishna Verma, Bhuj Airport.
