The Adversary Cycle written by Americanauthor F. Paul Wilson . First published in July 1991 by Dark Harvest.Plot Summary
This penultimate sequel to
THE KEEP sets the stage for the final showdown between the forces of Darkness and Light which takes place in the novelNIGHTWORLD . Most of the action in this book is patently unnecessary to the further development of the overarching plot of The Adversary Series and its chief legitimate purpose is to function as a chronological segue between its predecessor,REBORN , and its successor mentioned above. Most of the action takes place at the time the author penned the novel circa 1988 but, ironically, the most critical passages chronicling Rasalom's growth from infant to enfant terrible are extremely brief and offered up almost as throwaway interludes designed to allow the reader a brief respite from the adult Rasalom's gratuitous machinations and manipulations and assorted murderous mayhem prior to the cliffhanger ending in which he dashes off to begin his final transformation into the most fearsome creature of unrelenting evil ever to walk the Earth.
