Indianapolis, INand Super Regionals in St. Louis, Missouri, among other places. The Band placed 22nd in the nation and 2nd in its class (AA) last year at Nationals.
This year, 2008, the band made its contest debut at Hilliard Darby High School on September 13th. The band placed 5th in finals performance at this year's Centerville BOA Regional. The performance was the band's earliest BOA season debut in their seven year history.
In 2007, the Central Crossing Marching Band became the first, and only, school from SWCS to be named a Bands of America Regional Champion. Only 3 other bands from the entire state of Ohio have won a regional. The band competed with bands from 4 other states and 22 bands total.
In 2006, the band was named 2nd Place Class AA at BOA Grand National Finals.
The Central Crossing Winterguard has also been very successful in the years the school has been opened. The first year the Winterguard was established they won MEPA State Championships in class Regional A. In 2007 the Winterguard won MEPA States again in class Scholastic A with their show 'Crossing the Line'. Just recently, April 2008, the guard won MEPA State Championships, class Scholastic A with their show 'Nella Fantasia'.
The Central Crossing Winter Drumline is another of the school's music programs receiving honors. This year, they received second in the Scholastic Open class at the WGI Regional in Dayton, OH. In addition, they were also named the Scholastic Open MEPA Champions with their show 'Out of Balance'.
Central Crossing gained it's first secret society in 2008 with the underground work of The Merywether-Lewis Society. It's primary purpose is the continuation of information regarding certain intellectual papers. These papers are hidden within the depths of the school ground. It is no mere task to find them, but a quest, a quest for the ultimate knowledge. The clues evolve in difficulty as they arise. The first of these elusive documents, is only available to those who know the art of Parkour or Gymnastics. When one seeks enlightenment, they search to past authors who can broadcast their message.
Good Luck, for this journey is years in the making. Its completion will not be met for years. As you embark, remember to never let the secret die.
Clue: "The night falleth and the trolls emerge from the open doors to lick the grime from there masters house.
