The LifeCam is a Webcam from Microsoft for home PC users available in various models. Its special features include an embedded microphone and integration with Windows Live Messenger, thus enabling direct Internet support. All models of Lifecam have a Windows Live Call button that causes Windows Live Messenger to initiate a video call. It is available for both laptops and desktops. The NX series is for laptops while the VX series is for desktops.

There is a known problem for this particular unit. Several laptops have their wireless antenna placed along the top of the laptop display. Clipping the microphone to a laptop display like this may cause interference with the microphone, resulting in a great deal of static.
