Tunka ( _ru. Тунка) is a village ("selo") in Tunkinsky District of the Buryat Republic, Russia, located east of Baikal in the Tunka Valley.

In the 19th century, it served as a settlement to where a large number of political prisoners were forcibly resettled. Among them was a group of all Catholic priests arrested during the 1863 January Uprising against tsarist Russia, 145 altogether. Among other notable political prisoners kept there were Bronisław Szwarce and Józef Piłsudski [http://nowe-panstwo.pl/11_2002_miesiecznik/11_2002_reportaz.htm] .
