California Graduate School of Theology

California Graduate School of Theology is a Christian institution of higher learning in La Habra, CA. It was founded in 1968 as an interdenominational graduate school and has been attended by over 5,000 students. The institution notes it has been without federal accreditation since its inception. [http://www.cgsot.edu/accreditation.htm] In March 2008 California Graduate School of Theology submitted preliminary paperwork for associate membership with the Association for Theological Schools (ATS), a federally recognized Accrediting association (CHEA).

Accreditation

This school is unaccredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the primary body responsible for college and university accreditation in the region. In 2008 California Graduate School of Theology submitted preliminary paperwork for associate membership with the Association for Theological Schools (ATS) an accrediting body recognized by the Federal Government. The BPPVE California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education has "approved" the school to "operate" in California and offer degrees ranging from the Bachelor of Arts/Theology, Master of Arts, Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, Doctor of Ministry, and Doctor of Theology, and Doctor of Philosophy.
