mineral . Analcime consists of hydratedsodium aluminium silicate in cubiccrystal line form. Itschemical formula is NaAlSi2O6·H2O. Minor amounts of potassium and calcium substitute for sodium. Asilver bearing synthetic variety also exists (Ag-analcite).Analcime is usually classified as a
zeolite mineral, but structurally and chemically it is more similar to thefeldspathoid s. Analcime occurs as a primary mineral in analcimebasalt and other alkalineigneous rocks . It also occurs as cavity and vesicle fillings associated withprehnite ,calcite , and zeolites.Locations include the
Cyclopean Islands east offSicily and nearTrentino in northernItaly ; Victoria inAustralia ;Kerguelen Island in theIndian Ocean ; in theLake Superior copper district ofMichigan , Bergen Hill,New Jersey ,Golden, Colorado in theUnited States ; and at Cape Blomidon,Nova Scotia andMont Saint-Hilaire ,Quebec inCanada ; and inIceland .ee also
