Matthew Puckett is an American composer, songwriter, and music producer. He is best known for his song "Everything I Want", the theme song to ABC's critically acclaimed mini-series Boston Med. Puckett also wrote the song "So Much to Say", the theme for Hopkins, a show which garnered ABC News a 2008 Peabody Award.[1][2] Born and raised in New York City, Puckett attended the High School of the Performing Arts and received his BFA from NYU.

Theater, film and Television

Puckett's songs, themes, and scores have been featured in numerous films and series, most notably Particles of Truth (75 Films), Hooking Up (ABC), Lisa Williams Show (Lifetime), and Crazy Sexy Cancer (TLC). Puckett's music can currently be heard on the Showtime series I Can't Believe I'm Still Single from Eric Schaeffer, now in its second season. Puckett has also composed the theme and score for the Starz series Gravity.

Additional film and television credits include: theme and score for Gravity (Starz), Being Human (Syfy featured Puckett's cover version of "The Ghost In You"), the score and end title song for some boys don't leave, Winner of Best Short at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival[3] starring Jesse Eisenberg, score and songs for Particles Of Truth (75 Films, Sundance Channel), Colin Fitz (IFC / Official Selection Sundance), Never Again (Focus Features), Starved (FX) and Make It or Break It (Disney). His music was also featured in the ABC show Boston Med, in which he is credited for the theme song, "Everything I Want" and other music and songs for the series.[4]

Puckett has also written the original music for the collection of short Off Broadway plays entitled New Works: Chance.[5]

Music production

Puckett produced the latest CD for the Minneapolis band Lynhurst. He also wrote the song "Feels Like Falling" with the band. He is currently producing and writing with several artists including Elizabeth Gillies (Nickelodeon), Jess Furman, Jenna Andrews, Nikki Webster, Cathy Heller (Frontline), and Kyler England (The Rescues / Universal Republic). Puckett produced and arranged Cathy Heller’s song "Turn the Sunshine On," which was the promo for the new NBC Comedy Line-up. Puckett is the sole proprietor of his company Fader 5 Music Los Angeles, California.[6]
