Marco Sabiu

Marco Sabiu is an Italian born musician and composer most notable for his work with Take That, Kylie Minogue, Christopher Lee and television.

Biography

Marco Sabiu was born in Forli, Italy in 1963. Sabiu started playing the piano at the age of 9 and at the age of 14 joined the 'Gioacchino Rossini' Conservatory of Music in Pesaro, Italy to study Piano and Composition. In 1991, he moved to London, UK and began a production collaboration with Charlie Rapino to form the 'Rapino Brothers' where he worked with major pop acts such as Take That and [[Kylie[1] Minogue]]. In 1998, Sabiu started working solo on more challenging projects with artists like Tanita Tikaram , Perry Blake, Francoise Hardy, Filippa Giordano, Luciano Pavarotti, Ennio Morricone and more. In 2001, he returned to Italy where he built his own recording studio and worked on composing soundtracks. Sabiu is a television star in his native Italy and has made appearances on major Italian television shows including 'Sanremo Festival', 'Domenica In' and 'Lo Spettacolo Sta Per Iniziare.' In 2010 he composed actor Christopher Lee's first concept album, 'Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross' which will become a full-fledged musical in 2013. In 2008 and 2009, Marco conducted and orchestrated for the Notti In Arena by the leading Italian rockstar Ligabue, performing before an average of 12000 every night for 20 nights.In February 2011, Sabiu released his solo debut album 'Sabiu No.7' [2] charted no. 1 in iTunes Classic and stayed in the top 10 for over three weeks.
