EC-Council Network Security Administrator

The 'EC-Council Network Security Administrator' (ENSA) is a professional certification provided by the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants.

The Network Security Administrator is a prerequisite for the EC-Council CEH certification. The certification is designed to look at the network security in a defensive view while the CEH certification program looks at the security in offensive mode. The NSA program is designed to provide fundamental skills needed to analyze the internal and external security threats against a network, and to develop security policies that will protect an organization’s information.A Network Security Administrator will learn to configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems and AV systems, as well as develop effective security policy in a company.. The certification is currently in Version 3 as of September 2008

Certification coursework

The coursework consists of 30 modules, which range from 30 minutes to five hours or more, depending on the depth of the information provided. The course occurs over a five day period. []


Certification is achieved through training at an ATC (Accredited Training Center), the test is delivered trough an online Prometric exam to receive the ENSA certification.
