Active power conditioner

Active power conditioner

Active power conditioner (active power filters) refers to power electronic devices that are used in industry or commercial facilities to improve electrical power quality and remove behaviours that cause losses and disruptions, such as harmonics, reactive power, flicker and resonance in low to high voltage supply lines.

Active power conditioners has the ability to continuously follow the dynamics of the power flow to and from electrical loads and fully compensate for undesired electrical behaviours with little or no delay. Power conditioners can be placed both in series and parallel with the load or generator that requires compensation. Parallel connection is the most common configuration and the operating principle shown in [ [http://comsys.se/explore/technology Explore technology] ADF Operating Principle] .are

Different approaches and topologies exist but all power conditioners are based on transistor technology and class-D switching amplifier topology with or without digital signal processing control.
