An isocracy is a form of government where all citizens have equal political power. The term derives from Greek "ισος" meaning "equal" and "κρατειν" meaning "to have power", or "to rule".

Isocracy should be incompatible with gerrymandering by class, as at ancient Athens or Rome. Fact|date=February 2007

Socialism has been described as social isocracy, on the grounds that the influence of wealth prevents genuine equality. Fact|date=February 2007
