Manali (Tamil: மணலி) is an Industrial town and Municipality in Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a northern suburb of Chennai City .

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Manali had a population of 58,174. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Manali has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 67%. In Manali, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Location and Surroundings

Manali is a Northern Suburb of Chennai city. It borders Tiruvottiyur to the east, Mathur MMDA to the west, Kodungaiyur to the south, 100 ft road to the North. The main throughfares in the area is Kamarajar Salai,Chinna mathur Road,Parthasarathy street.
