"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is a computer and video game that was released on 11 November 2005, a few days before the movie release of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (the fourth in the "Harry Potter" series). Both the game and the movie are based on J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", the fourth novel in the "Harry Potter" series.

The game follows the three main characters of the movie — namely Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley — and there is an entirely new spell-casting system that will allow for collaborative spells. The characters themselves will more closely resemble their movie counterparts than in previous games. It also has higher-quality graphics than the rest of the "Harry Potter" video games. However, the game play in the fourth video game is much more action-oriented, which is a change from the previous games.

In addition, players can play the game with friends, and can combine their magic and spells to make them more powerful. Players can also capture moving beans using "Accio" and increase their power with collectors, creature, and character, cards.

There is no RPG iteration of the game, unlike with previous titles. In addition, it was pointed out that unlike the previous instalments, there was not much room to "run around" such as in the second game where you were allowed to move freely within the castle and on the grounds. It also should be noted that it was decided to not include a different version for the PC, unlike previous versions.

The game is divided into several non-consecutive levels, some of which are locked at the beginning of the game until the player collects enough Triwizard Shields to unlock it.

It should also be noted, that even though the PSP version is a port, it is missing the level Prefect's Bathroom.

*Harry Potter: A fourteen-year-old wizard in training. Harry is unexpectedly selected as a fourth champion in the Triwizard Tournament and must battle his way through three difficult tasks for the Tournament.

*Hermione Granger: One of Harry's closest friends and the best of his year at Hogwarts. Not playable in Triwizard Tasks

*Ron Weasley: The other of Harry's closest friends. Ron is inferior to both Harry and Hermione's magic abilities. Not playable in Triwizard Tasks.

*In Triwizard Tasks you can play as Fleur, Victor and Cedric in ("GBA and DS versions only")

*Arthur Weasley: Ron's father. Mr Weasley accompanies the Weasley family, Harry, and Hermione to the Quidditch World Cup at the beginning of the game. He also helps them out in the fight between the Death Eaters and the Quidditch game's spectators. He regularly makes sure that Harry, Ron and Hermione are safe throughout the journey to find the Portkey.
*Mad-Eye Moody: The new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts. He provides several challenges to increase Harry, Ron, and Hermione's spell casting abilities.
*Rubeus Hagrid: Hagrid is one of Harry's most loyal friends and the groundskeeper of Hogwarts. He accompanies Harry, Ron and Hermione into the Forbidden Forest, when he shows them the Hungarian Horntail.
*Voldemort: Voldemort, who seemed to be dead for almost thirteen years, comes back to his power at the end of the game, and he matches Harry as the final boss.
*The Monsters: Throughout their journey, whether in the castle or outside, Harry and his friends must join forces to eradicate dangerous creatures such as Erklings and Dugbogs. Many advanced creatures, such as Skrewts or a hoard of Vampyr Mosps, require the whole team to unite their strength to destroy them.

Harry Potter is unexpectedly chosen as a fourth contender for the title of Triwizard Tournament champion in his fourth year at Hogwarts. Over the course of the school year, he must learn the spells and tricks necessary for him to be able to get through three difficult tasks and, ultimately, escape the clutches of infamous evil wizard Lord Voldemort.

This is a list of all the spells in the game:
*Wingardium Leviosa - Levitates objects
*Carpe Retractum - Pulls objects
*Aqua Eructo - Causes jets of water to come out of their wands to put out fires or cool down fiery creatures
*Herbivicus - Causes plants to grow very quickly
*Accio - Attracts items like Bertie Bott beans
*Magicus Extremos - a special mode with more power of magics, activated by this spell
*Avifors - Turns Dugbogs and Skrewts into birds
*Orbis - Sucks Dugbogs and Erklings into the ground
*Pullus - Turns Erklings into ducks
*Lapifors - Turns Salamanders into rabbits
*Orchideous - Turns Dugbogs and Vampyr Mosps into flowers
*Melofors - Puts a pumpkin on an Erkling's head
*Ebublio - Turns Salamanders into bubbles
*Ducklifors - Turns Skrewts into rubber ducks
*Inflatus - Inflates Vampyr Mosps, Salamanders and Skrewts
*Vermiculus - Turns Vampyr Mosps into worms

Reviews of this Harry Potter game were mixed, but a little bit more negative than positive. This was criticized for its lack of most features (especially role-playing elements) from the previous games and entirely different game play. It was, however, praised for its co-op multiplayer mode.
