- automictic meiotic parthenogenesis
A normal reduction division occurs, followed by the fusion of the two nuclei so that the diploid number of chromosomes is restored; often the female pronucleus fuses with the second polar body nucleus, or two cleavage nuclei may fuse; only females are produced; see facultative meiotic parthenogenesis.
