(a) A law; a precept.

The Hebrew Bible is divided into three parts: (1) The Torah, ``Law,'' or Pentateuch. (2) The Prophets (Nevi'im in Hebrew) . . . (3) The Kethubim, or the ``Writings,'' generally termed Hagiographa.
