Obere Mühle, the cultural centre of Dübendorf
The bell machine, standing in the center of Dübendorf. This machine was previously used in the old town church bell tower (1870-1968). After the church was moved to another place, the bell machine was left in the same location under the cover. Its four bells (350 kg, d-flat", 700 kg, a-flat', 1100 kg, a' and 2200 kg, d-flat') are still in use.

The town of Dübendorf is quite small, and it is easy to get around on foot. Traversal from one side of the city to the other can be done within a half hour of casual walking. Apart the city center and the river, an interesting place to visit is the museum of military aviation, storing not just various military planes, but also interesting demonstration material (for instance, how the helicopter steering systems are arranged) and three of the last original Junkers Ju-52 oldtimer airplanes in flying condition, which can be booked for sightseeing trips.

Dübendorf is served by both rail and bus links with the Zurich center (10 min), Winterthur (via Stettbach, 20 min) and other places in the canton of Zurich. Dübendorf train station is a stop of the Zürich S-Bahn on the lines S9 and S14. Its train station is a 13 minute (S9) ride from Zürich Hauptbahnhof. Stettbach is a stop of the S-Bahn Zürich on the lines S3, S9 and S12.

The military airport hosts one of the Rega bases. It currently is no longer used as the base of military jets.
