Eola-Amity Hills AVA, an American Viticultural Area, benefits from the gap in the Coast Range created by the corridor, as cool air from the Pacific Oceanpasses into the Willamette Valleyat that location, which moderates the summer temperatures in which the grapes are grown.cite web |url= http://www.vanduzer.com/winery/property.html |title= Our Gateway Location and Cool Evening Breezes Extend the Growing Season |publisher= Van Duzer Vineyards |accessdate=2008-08-01]
